2 Feet of Fog

An account of a long thought of journey to visit the grave of the man for whom I am named, L/Cpl Alan George Albert Waddington. He was KIA, November 18, 1944, one week to the day after the birth of his son. That son, Leslie, and I will make a brief trip to the battlefields around Caen, then through France,Belgium, the Netherlands, and to Geilenkirchen, Germany where he was killed, and ending at his final resting place in the Reichwald Forest War Cemetery just outside Kleve, Germany.

About Me

Screaming Burrito
Shreveport, LA, United States
1/2 American, My father a son of the earth, grew up in the hills of Arkansas. 1/2 English, My mother a city girl, grew up in the suburbs of London. I owe my display name to my daughter and former son-in-law. When their tightly wrapped three-week old really started crying, they called him the Screaming Burrito. The name of the original blog was my wife's idea. We were driving past a field a couple of weeks ago, and it was covered in, you guessed it, two feet of fog.
